LA++ Journal is asking for submissions from panorama architects, architects, planners, artists, and designers for the LA+ ICONOCLAST design concepts competitors.
The competitors challenges artistic thinkers to reimagine Central Park within the wake of a hypothetical eco-terrorist assault carried out to protest the lack of the world’s forests.
“LA+ ICONOCLAST provides designers the possibility to tackle the best fee anybody might ever hope for,” stated Jury Chair Richard Weller. “By taking over such an iconic website as Central Park, you get to sort out huge questions on how we symbolize and manifest beliefs of public well being, democracy, and nature. That is good faux information!”
The competitors will probably be judged by a global interdisciplinary jury together with architect and Lateral Workplace Co-founder Lola Sheppard; creator of BLDGBLOG and New York Occasions bestseller “A Burglar’s Information to the Metropolis” Geoff Manaugh; panorama architect and Snøhetta Associate Jenny Osuldsen; Director of the Workplace for Urbanization at Harvard GSD Charles Waldheim; and Metropolitan Museum Artwork affiliate curator of structure and design Beatrice Galilee.
The jury is chaired by PennDesign’s Richard Weller, Inventive Director, LA+; professor and chair of panorama structure and Meyerson Chair of Urbanism; and co-director, The Ian L. McHarg Heart.
The 5 winners will share USD $20,000 and have publication in a particular problem of LA+ Journal entitled LA+ ICONOCLAST.
The deadline for submissions is October 10, 2018.
